IIAD Veterinarian Participates in WOAH Global Veterinary Emergency Meeting

Institute for Infectious Animal Diseases (IIAD) veterinarian Dr. Jimmy Tickel was invited to participate in the first meeting of the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) ad hoc Group on Veterinary Emergencies (Incident Management Systems), held March 2–5, 2026, at WOAH Headquarters in Paris, France.

The meeting supported WOAH’s efforts to develop high‑level guidelines for national Incident Management Systems for Veterinary Services, strengthening preparedness and response to animal health emergencies. Dr. Tickel contributed expertise on IMS principles, interoperability, and coordinated emergency response, informed by real‑world experience.

IIAD recognizes WOAH’s leadership in advancing global veterinary emergency preparedness and appreciates the opportunity to contribute to initiatives supporting the implementation of key frameworks, including WOAH’s Performance of Veterinary Services (PVS) Evaluation and the FAO’s Good Emergency Management Practice (GEMP) and Progressive Pathway on Emergency Preparedness (PPEP).
