Frontline Field Training Programme on Wildlife, Environment, Biodiversity, and Ecosystems (FTP‑WEBE) in Indonesia

The Institute for Infectious Animal Diseases (IIAD) successfully completed the preparation of training materials and reviewed assessment tools for the Frontline Field Training Programme on Wildlife, Environment, Biodiversity, and Ecosystems (FTP‑WEBE) in Indonesia.

This initiative supports the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Strategic Framework, advancing the following Programme Priority Areas:

  • Better Production (BP3): One Health and a Better Environment
  • Better Environment (BE3): Biodiversity and ecosystem services for food and agriculture

Project Outcomes

IIAD’s work for this milestone included:

  • Finalizing training materials aligned with Indonesia’s established in‑service training model
  • Reviewing the training needs assessment tool for wildlife, environment, biodiversity, and ecosystems

This achievement, led by IIAD project team Dr. Heather Simmons and Madeline Healy, lays an important foundation for strengthening frontline capacity to protect ecosystems, support biodiversity, and promote sustainable and resilient food systems at the local and national levels.
