Dr. Kiril M. Dimitrov joins IIAD’s External Advisory Committee
The Institute for Infectious Animal Diseases (IIAD) is pleased to welcome Kiril M. Dimitrov, DVM, MS, PhD, Director of the Texas A&M Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory (TVMDL), to its External Advisory Committee.
Dr. Dimitrov brings extensive leadership and deep expertise in virology, molecular diagnostics, and veterinary public health. Since joining TVMDL in 2019, he has served in several key leadership roles and most recently assumed the position of Director in 2026. His distinguished career includes research with the USDA National Poultry Research Center, academic and diagnostic leadership roles in Bulgaria, and deployments supporting high‑consequence disease response efforts.
IIAD is honored to benefit from Dr. Dimitrov’s insight and experience as we advance our mission to protect animal health and strengthen global disease preparedness. We look forward to his guidance and contributions to the Institute’s strategic direction.
