IIAD welcomes new student fellow

A new student fellow, Lee Ellen Pearman, recently joined the Institute for Infectious Animal Diseases (IIAD) to work with the Veterinary Science Certificate Program (VSCP) under Joe Mask, Ph.D.

Lee Ellen is a freshman majoring in animal science at Texas A&M University. She grew up in Alto, Texas, where she participated in her local 4-H club and FFA chapter, giving her a passion for different aspects of agriculture. Lee Ellen said although she is not yet certain of what she wants to do after graduation, she is excited to gain knowledge and practical experiences in the agricultural field.

“Interning with Dr. Mask will give me new experiences and the opportunity to learn about different career paths I can possibly go into,” she said. “Furthermore, I am looking forward to gaining a better understanding of the 4-H and FFA Veterinary Science Contest, along with a better idea of what career I can choose after graduation, from this position.”

Her duties during her time at IIAD will include preparing materials for program events, helping with curriculum development and assisting with coordinating and directing VSCP camps and projects.
