The Institute for Infectious Animal Diseases (IIAD), a Department of Homeland Security Science and Technology Center of Excellence, is hosting an invitation-only workshop that aims to improve the knowledge of risks to the U.S. cattle herd from transboundary and emerging priority diseases, identify barriers towards enhancing risk-based prevention, preparedness and response and discuss future surveillance needs.

From Bench to Shop: Technology Transition to the Global Marketplace

June 19 - July 7

Trainees will participate in a three week experiential short course and be grouped into four categories: vaccines, diagnostics, therapeutics and biologically relevant specimens. Each cohort will consist of two graduate students, one post-doctoral fellow and one early-career faculty member or researcher. They will start in College Station, Texas, and then travel to Galveston, Texas, for week one; go to Ft. Collins, Colorado, for week two; and finish in Pretoria, South Africa in week three.
